Attention is always payed to creating a spiritual and inclusive atmosphere in the venue, with drums, Psalms, incense, Rastafari decor and food all regularly found in the dance.The sound started as a two box youth sound in the 90's playing at house parties and community centres. From those times till now the sound has stayed with the tradition of being 'homegrown'. Everything from the tweeter boxes to the amp racks and the dubplates played through it are hand built.Sound System has always gone hand in hand with studio and for Kibir La Amlak this was the natural way to go. Hitek plays on radio stations in the west London area forming a Roots reggae repetoire which evolved into Roots Hitek Sound.The label dub showcases go on unabated with Roots Hitek playing sessions featuring dubplates of unrealesed material from the UK labels mixed with foundation style and new roots out of Jamaica and a shower of Dub. In the beginning there were six members including myself, the other five were cousins, it was like a family sound. I have been playing sound system since 1977 before I left school, at that early age the sound wasn't that big so I only played mainly in Blues dances but increasing the sound every time. Five months after leaving school, I was only 17 at the time, I played at my first major dance. Up until then the sound didn't have a name, but after the dance someone commented I should name the sound "Earthquake".---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------DUB INVASION: UKDub Invasion is a digital dub producer/live act and owner of net based Silverback Recordings record label from Bristol, UK who produces on Electribe drum machines and a Roland Phantom keyboard.
