"How to" replace A4 B8 Halogen DRL bulbs with P13w LED's
Only my second post on this forum so I hope it is in the right section and it is of some use to some of you.
I have owned a A4 B8 1.8T SE (2008) since June and having recently replaced the headlamp bulbs with some Xenon style whiter bulbs the
Halogen DRL's looked really yellow against them.
Not wanting to spend the £1300+ to upgrade to Xenons I decided to swap out the halogen bulbs for LED's.
Here is a bit of a guide on how to do it.
The headlamps need to be removed, this is explained in the owners manual, once they are out you need to access the drl bulbs.
To do this you have to actually cut open the headlamp as Audi for some reason have not made these bulbs easily accesible. However they do
supply a cover to fit onto the lamp once it has been cut open.

The part number for the repair cover is 8J0 941 607 and 4 are required.
The area's that need to be cut are highlighted in the next two pictures

Using a Stanley knife carefully cut out the plastic and you will see the bulbs, be careful as the wiring for the bulb is pretty close to where you
have to cut. They are pretty easy to cut out as the plastic is quite thin.
Once the bulbs are exposed twist them to remove and replace them with P13w Led bulbs, I got mine from ebay, 4 are required.
Once the bulbs are in you have to put the covers on the lights, they are real easy to fit and push snug onto the lamp unit creating a watertight
seal.

Refit the headlamps to the car and that's it, the whole process takes about an hour to do and the white LED bulbs definetly look better than
the yellowish halogens.

Sorry about the poor quality pictures as they were taken on my phone and I hope this post is of some use to those who do not have Xenon's
but would like a whiter looking light.
